5 of the Top Health Bloggers in Australia

Whether traveling Australia as a working holiday nurse or hospital nurse in Australia, it's important to learn more about the people you will interact with on a daily basis. While nothing beats face-to-face communication, checking out various online blogs and nurse articles can also give you an idea of what to expect when you get to Australia. Of course, with nurses being in the health profession, it makes sense to want to know the best people writing about health-related topics in the country. To get you started, here are some of the top health bloggers in Australia:

1. Sarah Wilson

IQuitSugar.com was Australia's largest digital wellness site, but Sarah closed it down on 31 May 2018. Although it has been taken down, some bits and bobs are surfacing in other places. But don't worry because her official site is still up, and it's a place where you can get tips on anxiety and loneliness and wellness tricks. Sarah also just published her first book, “First, We Make the Beast Beautiful, A New Story of Anxiety.”

2. Wholesome Cook

Martyna Angell was just like most of us: infatuated with junk food and anything else convenient. But that was in her 20s. This time, she has vowed to go back to real food but “with room for an occasional indulgence.”

Martyna, a Polish-born Australian living in Sydney, grew up in a home with parents that loved to cook. She shares recipes from her childhood, with modifications for those with various intolerances and diets, on Wholesome Cook. She has also released two cookbooks published by Harlequin.

While advocating for eating healthy, Martyna makes room for “occasional indulgences.” She calls this her “90/10 rule” where she eats clean food 90% of the time while indulgence fills the remaining 10%.

3. The Nourishing Hub

Women do a lot and sometimes, that leads to neglect of health and well-being. The Nourishing Hub intends to be a source that addresses women's needs in this very hectic modern world. It focuses on providing information on the best natural and organic products that can help throughout the various stages of life. This is where you'll find not only blog posts but also recipes and research.

4. Vegan Sparkles

Rebecca Weller is a health & life coach, author, and speaker. Like a lot of people, she struggled with food, alcohol, and her body. In 2011, she chose to follow a vegan lifestyle and started blogging about it. That was the birth of Vegan Sparkles and fast forward a few years later, Rebecca's passion for wellness has turned her into a published author and a speaker at live events. On top of that, she also has another project called Sexy Sobriety to help those with a dysfunctional relationship with alcohol.

5. Melissa Ambrosini
